About me!
Unlike most photographers, I did NOT start my career by taking photos of my daughter. I started taking photos of everything when I was a young girl. The photos I took were not good photos, but I still hung them up in my room. I took photos of whatever, not giving much thought to it, but I just really enjoyed taking them! I never really had my own camera (I borrowed and lost one of my mom's in Junior High), but I finally saved up enough money to buy a digital camera while I was in college. As soon as I got my camera, I started taking photos of anything and everything I could when I had the time. I mean, let's face it! I was a busy college student with a family and a job, and taking photographs in my "spare time" was not realistic. I had to make it a priority, so I started taking photography classes. I loved working in the dark room and having crits, but I really learned about photography when I had a photo assignment. I tried taking photos at weddings too, which was the best learning experience ever! I love the challenge of photography...trying to capture that unforgettable moment, with just the right light at the right angle. I'm still learning how the heck to work all of my photography equipment, but that's what I love about this job. It's a challenge! I will NEVER take the same photo twice, and I meet the best people who share their lives with me, which is amazing and always different. Photography is a hobby to most, but it's more than that to me. It stimulates a personal challenge in my life that will forever motivate me to do better and learn. I like to relate photography to parenting...I learn so much from it, want to do better, put tons of energy into it, and it also drives me crazy sometimes!
